How you can develop credentials that will get you where you want to go. Understanding that the most important credentials you have are yourself, your experience, your ability to learn, and your confidence. Ways to demonstrate your strengths and abilities.
A-15 Exhibitor Workshop: Semester Schools: Experiential 17 Week Programs For High Schoolers
Learn how a semester school can complement a homeschooling program. Semester schools provide students with unique educational settings where they earn academic credit while immersed in a themed program. Themes include environmental stewardship, visual arts, ethics, outdoor activities, and marine ecology. Examples will be drawn from 11 schools including Conserve School in northern Wisconsin.
B-5 Civics in Action: How a Homeschooling Teen Changed a City Ordinance
Why challenge the Baraboo ordinance outlawing raising chickens in the city, especially when others had failed? Researching the issue and finding out what to do. Networking and developing grassroots support. Enlisting others to help make the case before a public hearing. Using the media to gain support. Effective ways of interacting with both supporters and opponents in person and in writing.

An overview of the college admission process, including tips and suggestions based on homeschoolers’ experiences. How homeschooling prepares teens for college and how they adjust to the experience. Considering the option of delaying college for a year or two.

Meet in lobby of Gruenhagen Conference Center. Weather permitting, walk to a nearby athletic field to play soccer, Frisbee, and other games participants bring. If the weather is unsuitable, go to Connections for games and conversation. Adult coordinator present.
C-14 Joys and Challenges of Homeschooling for High School
Discover many of the options offered by homeschooling for high school. Dealing with academics, anxiety, action and aspirations. How to help our teens deepen their roots while spreading their wings.
C-15 Teens Connecting and Sharing Your Experiences: A Discussion
A chance for teens to get together and talk. What special interests do you have? What are your joys and challenges in homeschooling? Moderator is a grown homeschooler.
D-1 An Inside Look at Olympic Speed Skating
Did you know speed skating has earned 75 Olympic medals for the US, the most of any winter sport? Join a Category 1 speed skater who’s also a homeschooling teen while he explains the nuances of the sport, shows photographs, demonstrates the skate sharpening process, exhibits a skater’s tools of the trade, looks into the social aspects of the sport, describes how homeschooling has enabled his speed skating career, and answers your questions.

Teens share their homeschooling experiences, some of what they’ve studied and done, and how they feel about it.
D-14 Earn College Credit (and a Degree) Your Way and Inexpensively
During high school and after, learn on your own and earn college credit (and a degree) for what you know by taking CLEP and other exams and completing distance learning courses. Resources to prepare for tests. Test taking strategies. Speaker earned 140 credits and a degree this way.
