Friday Flame for November 1, 2019

We have a winner!

After lengthy blind deliberations over the 6 tremendous entries received in the 2020 Conference Logo contest, the Committee has chosen “Lighting the Fire,” a community-focused, inclusive, heart-warming pencil drawing created by WPA Member Ely, age 12, from Sun Prairie!

“Lighting the Fire”
Pencil on paper
Ely, 12, Sun Prairie

A professional multi media artist is creating our official Conference Logo from this drawing, and we will reveal it in just a couple of weeks.

All of the entries were truly shining examples of creative thinking by homeschoolers embracing this year’s theme of “Kindling the Flame,” and the quote, “Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.” ~Unknown

We want to extend our sincere thanks to all the young people who took the time to enter the contest, and to all of our Members for supporting this new initiative! We look forward to using all of the entries as part of Conference!
