Share the Warmth
As a homeschooler, do you sometimes feel alone in what you do? From time to time all homeschoolers do! Wisconsin Parents Association is living proof you are not alone. As part of WPA’s mission as a state-wide, inclusive, grassroots organization dedicated to protecting the right of parents to provide an education to their children according to their own principles and beliefs, it is paramount for homeschoolers across the state to maintain a connection with one another. WPA’s annual Conference provides the opportunity for all homeschoolers to gather together and share the warmth.
The theme for the 2019 Member Event in Amherst, WI this past June was “Working Together,” centering around Aesop’s Fable entitled, “The Lion and the Three Bulls.” The theme carried through the whole event with workshops including “Nuts & Bolts” and “Working Together,” as well as activities to encourage homeschoolers to work together and not stand alone. The upcoming 2020 WPA Homeschooling Conference strives to build on that theme by “Kindling the Flame” of your homeschooling experience.
One of the highlights of the WPA’s 2019 Member Event was the family-friendly atmosphere bringing together learning, fun, and social time. The upcoming 2020 Conference will continue to stoke this family-friendly fire through the activities, workshops, and even the resource fair! Families can learn through “touch and do” projects, watch demonstrations, explore new skills, and listen to specially focused topics to help your family fan the flames of learning and discovery, together. The Conference is a place to socialize with other homeschoolers and connect through shared interests, games, and other fun activities.
So don’t be alone this year — come enjoy the company and support of homeschoolers throughout the state! Share the warmth at the 2020 WPA Conference in Stevens Point, WI!
